 At present the club has full ownership of one full sized pitch at its pre mises in Bally money just outside the town on the Beach Road. This facility is a self contained 5.5 acre site which also includes a s mall clubhouse with two dressing roo ms, a meeting roo m and a s mall kitchen area with toilet facilities. A lot of i mprove ments have taken place over the last nu mber of years. Drainage and lighting of the pitch have been the most extensive projects.
The club’s second ground, Pearses Park, is shared with the County Board. This is situated on the Vale Road on the edge of town. However, the club’s use of this facility is so mewhat restricted due to the rather large de mands put on it by County Board require ments. The club also have the use of a juvenile pitch at Pearse’s Park with unli mited access.
In 2004, the club and County Board took on a joint venture to provide a 60’ x 90’ all weather facility at Pearse’s Park. This proved to be a very worthwhile venture which opened in May ’06 and is now run as a club training facility as well as a co m mercial enterprise. The need for further develop ment in playing facilities has beco me more evident as the club grows each year. This, we are sure, will beco me one of our next projects in the very near future. |
