On what was a perfect evening for football, our under 12 and under 14 boys joined forces and had a mixed challenge match. The under 14 boys were due to play Carnew this evening but Carnew were unable to travel so both sets of coaches quickly arranged the training match.
The players from each group were graded by the coaches and Pat Kelleher was drafted in to referee the game. A very entertaining game of football was played out with some excellent skills on display. The under 12 showed they were more than able to compete with their older club mates, and some of our older under 14’s showed some real leadership qualities.
Both sets of coaches agreed it was a worthwhile exercise and all the players certainly seemed to get great enjoyment out of the game. It is hoped to repeat the training at regular intervals over the next few months.
